Officers may have visible tattoos on their hands, fingers, arms and legs as long as it is in compliance with the policy below.
Tattoos above the neck/collar line (including neck, behind ears, etc.) must be covered with makeup. Makeup shall match the skin color of the wearer, and the purchase of any makeup shall be at the employee's expense.

OFFICERS SHALL NOT DISPLAY TATTOOS THAT ARE OBSCENE, SEXUAL IN NATURE, RACIST, GANG RELATED, ALCOHOL OR DRUG RELATED, DEROGATORY, IN VIOLATION OF ANY NONDISCRIMINATION LAWS, OR THAT UNDERMINES CITY OR DEPARTMENTAL VALUES.
