Example of Duties:
- Inspects, adjusts, installs and maintains parking meters, corrects complaints, malfunctions or stoppages; inspects damaged and tampered meters, searches area for missing meters; evaluates seriousness of such actions in terms of actual and potential revenues lost, analyzes modus operandi and takes and recommends measures to curb future occurrences and abuses of the meters as well as of pertinent parking regulations.
- Diagnoses malfunctions and operability, maintains meters by completely disassembling the clock, time registering and internal components, test for worn or malfunctioning parts, replace, fabricate, modify and repair defective components, and reassemble and adjust each meter to meet the requirements established by City ordinance. Maintains, modifies and repairs Collection Section’s carts, cans and coin containers.
- Records and monitors the daily usage of meters and work performed; recommends rescission of citations if they were issued, or denial of claims of malfunctions; and may be called as expert witness to refute claims of inoperability. Prepares work orders with diagrams for reinstallations and resets.
- Receives, stocks, inventories and secures meters, parts, equipment and supplies.

Training and Experience:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journey level skills of this position, or which show equivalent competence in the repair of metering devices, office appliances, clocks or similar small mechanical equipment.

- Contract will work with the Storekeeper II to plan and coordinate the overall operational activities of a parts equipment room segment within an extensive automotive equipment maintenance and repair facility.
- Responsible to record and log correlating forms and documents.
- Initiating requisitions for purchases of auto parts, shop supplies, special testing equipment, and tools of various items.
- Maintain accurate safety data sheet records and accurate inventory on tools and equipment.
- Implementing an efficient means of receiving, disbursing, classifying, and storing of parts.
Training and Experience:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of experience in the issuance and storage of automotive parts and accessories or equivalent work experience which shall have demonstrated knowledge of automotive parts and accessories.

Operates a panel truck and collects money deposited in the parking meters on the curb and in off-street parking facilities. Lifts and pushes cart with storage box (up to 200 pounds) on uneven and sometimes uphill terrain (5-8 miles). Lifts cart filled with storage cans about 35 times into and out of assigned vehicles.
