The Police Evidence Specialist I documents the crime scene through photography, diagrams, processing for latent fingerprints, and also searches for, recovers, preserves and marks evidence; assists in conducting tests and analyses within the laboratory and in the field, prepares court exhibits and testifies in court proceedings; and performs other related duties as required. This is an entry level position with the Police Evidence Specialist I becoming progressively more independent in performing duties.

Example of Duties:
  • Contract will work with the Storekeeper II to plan and coordinate the overall operational activities of a parts equipment room segment within an extensive automotive equipment maintenance and repair facility.
  • Responsible to record and log correlating forms and documents.
  • Initiating requisitions for purchases of auto parts, shop supplies, special testing equipment, and tools of various items. 
    • Obtaining three quotes
    • Generating purchase eforms
  • Maintain accurate safety data sheet records and accurate inventory on tools and equipment. 
  • Implementing an efficient means of receiving, disbursing, classifying, and storing of parts.

computer operator i

Contract located at the Main Police Station

The Computer Operator I is under the direct supervision of the Video Management Unit (VMU) Sergeant and must adhere to the State and City laws and ordinances, departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures. This position performs processing and technical duties pertaining to the VMU's operations. Must have knowledge of computer functions and capabilities.
Minimum Qualification Requirements

Training and Experience:  
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of experience in an office environment which demonstrated effective use of personal computers, peripheral equipment, and applications such as word processing and electronic mail.

License Requirement:  State of Hawaii Driver's License (Type 3)

Traffic Division
Operates a panel truck and collects money deposited in the parking meters on the curb and in off-street parking facilities. Lifts and pushes cart with storage box (up to 200 pounds) on uneven and sometimes uphill terrain (5-8 miles). Lifts cart filled with storage cans about 35 times into and out of assigned vehicles.
Contract approved till June 30, 2026. Option for renewal. ​
