prA INSTRUCTIONS 

**YOU MUST ARRIVE AT LEAST 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO COMPLETE THE CHECK-IN PROCESS. THOSE WHO ARE LATE TO CHECK-IN WILL BE DISQUALIFIED**
Once you arrive at the PRA, use your mobile device to complete the contactless check-in process. Please look for signs with a QR code upon your arrival.

REQUIRED ITEMS

  • Valid government issued Driver's License
  • Contact information for two (2) emergency contacts
  • Hydration
  • Inhaler (if needed)​
​​*Please refrain from bringing any other items (bags, purses, etc.) 

ATTIRE REQUIREMENTS

  • A short sleeve t-shirt is required (shoulders and torso must be covered). Spaghetti straps, tank tops and/or compression shirts may ONLY be worn as an undergarment. 
  • Conservative workout/athletic shorts are required.
    • If shorts are more than 2" above the knee, a compression type undergarment extending beyond/below the shorts is required. (I.e. yoga, spandex, leggings, compression, etc.)
  • Long hair must be tied in a ponytail.
  • Watches are acceptable, however, earrings, bracelets and loose fitting jewelry are not permitted.
  • Obscene/vulgar tattoos must be covered.

WAI'ALAE IKI NEIGHBORHOOD PARK

ARRIVAL / PARKING

  • Free public parking is available in the parking lot of Waialae Iki Neighborhood Park, however, we recommend arriving early to secure parking. 
  • Check-in for the PRA will be near the basketball courts.
  • Upon arrival, you will complete a contactless check-in process using your mobile device. Please be prepared to provide your Driver's License and information for two (2) emergency contacts.
  • Do not bring any valuables with you or leave them in your vehicle. The HPD is not responsible should any items be lost, damaged or stolen.

WEEKEND AND OFF ISLAND TESTING

ARRIVAL / PARKING

  • On Waipahu Depot Street, sometimes a line forms for the City & County Refuse Center. If able to do so safely, proceed to the left of the vehicle line to access the police academy.​​
  • Free parking is located at the Honolulu Police Training Academy. When entering the academy, make an immediate right turn into the "Recruit Parking" area. Please fill the parking lot from the entrance gate side. DO NOT park in red zones, or stalls designated as "Staff Parking."​ ​
  • Upon arrival, you will complete a contactless check-in process using your mobile device. Please be prepared to provide your Driver's License and information for two (2) emergency contacts.

FAILURES/RE-TESTS


​Should an applicant not successfully pass every event, they will be required to schedule a PRA re-test and pass the events they failed. If an applicant attempts the re-test and fails, or does not take advantage of the re-test opportunity, they will no longer be considered for the position and will need to submit a new application and restart the application process once six (6) months have passed from your last written exam.
